Connect · Create · Empower at AHPL
We’re proud to share our 2025 Annual Report — a year shaped by meaningful growth, thoughtful investment, and a commitment to our mission to Connect · Create · Empower. From launching a new strategic plan to enhancing our digital presence and reimagining our outdoor spaces, the Auburn Hills Public Library continued to evolve, strengthening our service to the community. This year’s accomplishments reflect not only the work happening within our building, but the voices, partnerships, and shared vision of the people we serve.
Connect
In 2025, our community found countless ways to connect — checking out materials, attending programs, and embracing new opportunities to stay engaged with the Library.
- 120,604 physical items borrowed and 49,842 digital items.
- 1,344 new cardholders, bringing our total to 9,833 active library users.
- 6,732 program attendees, from early literacy events to adult workshops and community celebrations.
Our outreach efforts also expanded, helping us meet patrons where they are and strengthen connections across Auburn Hills.
Create
Creativity flourished this year through hands-on programs, artistic showcases, and opportunities for patrons of all ages to explore new skills.
- Signature events like Art in the Hills, Tiny Art Show, and Battle of the Books brought the community together.
- Families continued to enjoy favorites such as Monster Hunt, Summer Reading, and other seasonal programs.
Empower
In 2025, we focused on strengthening the foundation that allows our library — and our community — to thrive. This year’s work centered on supporting our staff and expanding access in meaningful ways.
- A new strategic plan, created in partnership with Fast Forward Libraries LLC, now guides our direction through 2028. Rooted in community feedback, it outlines three core priorities: connecting and engaging with residents, creating welcoming and inspiring spaces, and empowering our staff and Board to lead with confidence.
- A comprehensive salary and compensation study ensured our pay structure remains fair, equitable, and competitive — an essential investment in the people who bring the Library to life every day.
- A redesigned, accessibility‑forward website launched in early 2025, making it easier than ever for patrons to explore resources, register for programs, and stay connected with the Library.
- Outdoor space improvements, including the dredging and treatment of the retention pond, moved us closer to our long‑term vision of creating welcoming outdoor areas that extend the Library experience beyond our walls.
Together, these efforts reflect our commitment to empowering both our community and the team, ensuring AHPL remains a place where everyone can learn, grow, and feel supported.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to Connect · Create · Empower, we remain committed to building a library that welcomes and reflects our community. Thank you for being part of our story — we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together in 2026.
