Summer at Auburn Hills Public Library just got a whole lot more adventurous because Reed the Bookasaurus Jr. is ready to explore the world! Reed hatched right here in Auburn Hills after a decades‑long mystery involving a time capsule, a brave goose named Ryan Gosling, and a whole lot of curiosity. Now he’s eager to see where you will take him next.
Starting July 13, you can pick up a Reed Adventure Kit at any service desk. Each kit includes a mini Reed, a few summer goodies, and simple instructions for sharing Reed’s travels with us. Kits are limited, so grab yours early!
How Reed’s Adventures Work
Take Reed with you on any summer outing: vacations, day trips, hikes, ice‑cream runs, backyard campouts, or even quick errands. Snap a photo of Reed enjoying the moment, then upload it using the QR code included in your kit or the photo submission form below.
Every photo you submit:
- Gets added to Reed’s Travel Map inside the library
- Helps us track where Reed has wandered this summer
- Enters you into a drawing for a Summer Reading Prize Pack
You can submit photos through September 9, giving Reed plenty of time to roam far and wide.
